If you live in the United Kingdom, then you are probably pretty thrilled with the fact that “Downton Abbey” is getting set to return on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. local time; meanwhile, if you live in America you are probably crying that you have to wait until PBS airs the show in 2013.
So what does one of the show’s biggest stars have to say about what we can expect from this exciting handful of episodes? Speaking in an interview per Metro, Emmy-nominated actor Hugh Bonneville gave us a pretty substantial taste of what to expect not only when it comes to the climate of Downton, but also how an upcoming story with Cora that is going to be thoroughly entertaining to see play out:
“In the past, everyone at Downton knew their place and they were living in a golden age. But now we discover that wasn’t the case at all and this series will be about recovery … Robert took a huge gamble with his wife Cora’s money and that’s why he is emotionally devastated. His sole purpose in life is to make sure the house gets handed on to the next generation, but he’s mucked it up.”
For this upcoming season, the sole challenge for series creator Julian Fellowes is going to be trying to find a way to keep everything not just exciting, but on the same level of excellence as we saw during seasons 1 and 2. This show currently is a favorite to take home at least a few Primetime Emmy Awards, so if that is not one final indication of just how strong the ensemble here is, we don’t know what else to say to convince you.
