Even though Fox has for whatever reason decided not to announce just yet who are officially the new judges on “American Idol,” all of us have pretty much figured it out at this point: it’s going to be Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson, who is back after talks with Enrique Iglesias ended up falling through.
So when are these judges going to actually first appear together for the first time? Although there are some claims that it could happen near the end of the season, the very-reliable Mjsbigblog has sources claiming that all four of these people are going to be appearing Saturday and Monday at Jazz at Lincoln Center for the first part of the judges’ round with the contestants. It’s possible that the show is waiting to make things confirmed until the beginning of the actual auditions, or maybe they are getting a press release together as we speak. It’s hard to figure out what exactly they are doing at this point, which is a reaction that we had when many of the judging rumors were coming out the past few weeks.
Just in case you want more evidence that an announcement coming up pretty soon, remember that Urban recently quit “The Voice” Australia, and that Minaj recently wrote on her Twitter account that there is a major announcement coming from her later this weekend. The judges have better start filming auditions soon, especially since Minaj is touring latter this year, and Carey also probably has some more to do on an upcoming album.
