The good news for “The Good Wife” just keeps coming concerning actors with “True Blood” connections making triumphant returns. Only a matter of days after it was first reported that Denis O’Hare (Russell Edgington) would be returning to the CBS drama series for his role as a judge, it also turns out that Carrie Preston (otherwise known as Bon Temps resident Arlene) is also going to be coming back.
For those who saw her work during season 3, you already know just how much joy Preston ended up bringing to the show as Elsbeth, an off-the-wall lawyer who manages to get things down even if it is by using some unusual methods. By the time that her story arc was over, she had really joined the likes of some other memorable past guests including Michael J. Fox ad Lisa Edelstein.
As for what is going to be bringing Preston’s character back to Lockhart Gardner, though she has i the past helped to fend off the Department of the Treasury in some legal warfare. It’s also unclear just how long that she is going to stick around, even though there are some suggestions that it will be for more than one episode. Considering that “True Blood” is being shortened to ten episodes this coming season thanks to Anna Paquin’s pregnancy, and that it doesn’t start filming again until early next year, Preston is going to have a little more freedom in her schedule for some other roles. She appeared on a episode of “Royal Pains” earlier this summer, playing a quirky author trying to find some sort of common ground with her bookworm daughter.
Some of the other guest stars already booked for season 4 include Kristin Chenoweth, Maura Tierney, Nathan Lane, and the return yet again of Fox. If you want to see what Bill Maher is going to be doing on the show, all you have to do is visit the link here.
