‘America’s Got Talent’ finale notes: Justin Bieber and Sharon Osbourne
Following the somewhat-surprising victory by Olate Dogs on Thursday night’s “America’s Got Talent” finale, we have a pair of stories that really are worth sharing in relationship to some of the big events that we saw play out on NBC’s top-rated summer show.
First and foremost, we have to say goodbye to Sharon Osbourne, who confirmed on the show last night that it was going to be her last one after six years as a part of the panel. There are rumors that Osbourne’s exit has to do with the whole Jack Osbourne / “Stars Earn Stripes” controversy, and that may have played a role; however, it ultimately feels like a similar sort of situation to what Piers Morgan went through before leaving the show last year. He realized that trying to do this show and his CNN program was going to be impossible, and Sharon may especially feel the same way not given that “The Talk” films in Los Angeles and “America’s Got Talent” is in New York.
The show is reportedly already hard at work looking for Sharon’s successor, though they also still have to try and secure Howard Stern for another season, as well. There is interest from both camps in him returning, so it may just come down to the age-old issue of whether or not they can offer him enough money. As we’re learning from “The X Factor” this season, though, money isn’t everything; it’s about finding a panel that works more than just securing big names. Howard did a great job and he should be brought back, but we hope that the show casts Sharon’s replacement based more on chemistry than a big star.
On a completely different note, you can catch Justin Bieber’s network television debut of “As Long As You Love Me” from the show below. This thankfully when over a lot better than when his music video clip did not air on the day that it was supposed to.
Who do you think should be Sharon’s replacement on the show? We want to hear some of your thoughts! If you want to check out some more news from the finale, all you have to do is head over to the link here.

Wow! Great idea, Evan! I was having a hard time thinking of someone who could truly be a match for Sharon, but Chelsey Handler would be perfect! I’ll definitely second that!

If you are looking for a new judge to fill Sharon Osbourne’s shoes on America’s Got Talent (AGT) then I believe you should consider Chelsey Handler for the position. As a viewer of both AGT and Chelsey Lately I personally think with her humor she would mesh perfectly with Howie Mandel and Howard Stern. These three judges would make a dynamic season with their comedic but intellectual comments. Who ever you go with I’m sure will be great, but please consider my suggestion as well. Thank you.
