We are going to be heading back to “Dallas” next season for more drama at the famous South Fork Ranch, and this time, there may be an added dose of drama courtesy of zombies … or at least someone who was infected by one on another TV series.
It was announced this week that actress Emma Bell, best known (at least in our eyes) for playing Andrea’s sister Amy on “The Walking Dead” season 1, has been cast on the TNT series for one of the vacant series regular roles. She will be playing a character also named Emma, who has lived a rather privileged life of world-traveling and riches thanks to being raised by her grandmother. However, he father has also taught her to be a bit wary of the outside world courtesy of some of the problems that he has faced throughout his life.
There are rumors that this character of Emma is tied to someone we already know rather well on the show, but for the time being, that is mere speculation. We are mostly just interested in seeing how this show will fare when it returns to much greater competition in January. There is no question that “Dallas” is a popular franchise, and it did do rather well this summer when it comes to total viewers and the adults 25-54 demographic; however, serialized shows can often have a harder time retaining viewers courtesy of the heavy commitment that comes with watching them versus something that is quick breezy, and you can pick up any time.
What do you think about this casting, and are you excited for season 2? We want to hear some more of your thoughts below! If you want to check out how the season finale for the show fared in the ratings, you can do so by following the link here.
