We have our first look at the “Saturday Night Live” premiere featuring Seth MacFarlane, and it once again proved one thing: the departure of cast members does not mean that the tone of the show is going to change at all.
In the video below, you can see some playful banter between the “Family Guy” creator and Kenan Thompson, with the talk mostly being around some of MacFarlane’s body of work that he has produced in the past several years, whether it be “Ted” or all of his animated series. There are jokes about impressions, accents, and just how busy the guy manages to constantly be.
Overall, we are still reasonably excited about this show, if for no other reason than that MacFarlane has proven to be a fan of classic TV. He understands the significance of something like hosting this show, and is not going to take it for granted by putting on some less-than-stellar sketches or phoning it in as host. It’s also possible that he could use his enormously deep Rolodex to bring in some actors that he has worked with over the years for cameos. (Mila Kunis? Mark Wahlberg? We’ll take either one.) Yes, we are expecting a “Family Guy” spoof to come in here at some point since that is pretty much what viewers are going to be expecting.
What do you think about this promo, and does it make you even more excited to catch MacFarlane’s gig on the show this weekend? We want to hear some more of your thoughts below!
