MTV is doing something rather interesting with their promotional campaign for the sixth season of “Jersey Shore,” and it does not even involve using their stars in full.
Rather, the newest teaser for the show features some fans standing outside some of the popular Seaside Heights hangouts that we have come to know over the years, whether it be the Shore Store, the Boardwalk, the club Karma, or the beach itself; meanwhile, they also all share one of their favorite quotes from the history of the series whether it be “yeah, buddy” or “GTL” or “I’m a meatball.” There’s no question that “Jersey Shore” has in many ways changed the way in which people think about the Garden State, and there are even some memorable quotes from the show (“come at me, bro” and “twinning” are two great examples) that did not even make it into this teaser.
As for what we are hoping for from the show itself, we’re fine with allowing the opportunity for The Situation, Snooki, and some of the others to grow up a little bit and move on with their lives. We just hope that there is still enough drama and conflict that producers did not start giving the cast members things to do. We worry since we already know some of the cast members spent time this season both looking at animals and hopping on board a jetpack over the ocean. We don’t want to lose the essence of what this show is really about, and the silly fun that can come as a result.
