‘True Blood’ stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer welcome twins

Mrs. Carter: Anna Paquin just happened to just take part in a “True Blood” tradition (at least with her character Sookie Stackhouse being a fairy): giving birth to multiple children.

In a statement per People Magazine, representatives for the actress and her husband Stephen Moyer have confirmed that Paquin recently gave birth to twins. When it comes to the finer details, they are a bit scarce for the time being. We do know that the children were born a little bit earlier than expected, but that they and the mother are all healthy and doing well. The names for the children have also yet to be announced.

Paquin and Moyer first announced the pregnancy around the time that the press tour for “True Blood” season 5 was starting to kick into high gear, and could start to see evidence that she was going through the early stages of the pregnancy in the final few episodes. It was not so much a situation where we saw a baby bump; rather, Paquin wore more robes and looser clothing as Sookie, and also did not have any of the sort of scenes that required her to disrobe as she did during season 4 and some of the earlier installments.

As for how this will impact the show moving forward, we already know that “True Blood” is planning a shorter sixth season of just ten episodes to give Paquin time to adjust to being a mother and make sure that the children are healthy. However, the new season should kick into high gear at the beginning of 2013.
