For those of you hoping that every couple featured on “Glee” would last deep into season 4, get ready for some bad news: one of the pairs that we have come to know and love will be broken up before the season starts.
So who is it? Speaking to TVLine in a new interview, Jenna Ushkowitz proclaims it to be Tina, and says that ultimately, it was her character’s choosing to end the relationship even though she was the one who encouraged Harry Shum Jr.’s Mike Chang to go away in the first place:
“People are really going to hate me … But it’s hard with long distance [relationships].”
The former couple will see each other for the first time since going their separate ways in the fifth episode of the new season, and this is something that Ushowitz claims is going to hit Tina in a pretty major way:
“It’s definitely going to be hard … It’ll be a truthful and honest [depiction of] what people go through in a break-up.”
So what is the good news here? We now know that Ushowitz is going to be one of the people performing in the upcoming performance of “3” during the Britney Spears tribute, which means that Tina could have some love back in her life sooner rather tan later. Is her relationship with Artie back on now that Mike is out of the picture? You have to assume that it is a possibility; meanwhile, it’s possible that either Tina has two male suitors, or that she and another woman are going after one guy. (It all depends on how you read into the song’s subject matter, and whether or not we should take it literally.)
Are you bummed to see that Mike and Tina are already done, or were you always more for Tina either with Artie or on her own? Be sure and share your thoughts below, and you can also check out a new sneak peek of the premiere featuring Lea Michele over at this link.
