If you have been reading some of our “Grey’s Anatomy” scoop over the past several weeks, then you will already know one thing to be true when it comes to the character of Alex Karev: he is going to be finding love at some point in the wake of great tragedy at Seattle Grace.
So who will it be? While we do not know this for sure just yet, a new report from TVLine confirms that the love interest is going to be a new face in the show’s universe this year. Meanwhile, executive producer Shonda Rhimes helps to explain this storyline further by sharing the following:
“In the aftermath of being the person who was supposed to be on the plane but who didn’t get on the plane, Alex has filled the void that he had been feeling in his life with a lot of sex with a lot of people … And he really paints himself into a corner.”
We’re still not entire sure what that means, but it does sound exciting; and the same thing goes for something different that we are going to see this season: a friendship that looks to be forming this coming season between Callie (who may or may not have Arizona at her side anymore) and Derek:
“Even though Callie wasn’t in the crash herself, they both experienced some pretty traumatic things because of it. Also, Callie is going to be working in a pretty interesting way to fix Derek’s hand.”
