‘The X Factor’ USA spoilers: Kevin McHale, Kelly Osbourne will not host
Even though we do not have confirmation yet as to who is going to be hosting “The X Factor” this coming season, we do at least know something else exciting: who is not going to be coming on board the show.
As a part of a new interview with Celebuzz, Simon Cowell proclaimed that both Kelly Osbourne and and “Glee” star Kevin McHale are no longer in the running to be co-hosts on the show. Both stars were at one point heavily considered, but they may not have worked out due to some of their other commitments. Kevin is of course working full-time on another Fox series, and Kelly is a panelist on the E! show “Fashion Police.”
What is still interesting about all of this, though, are the number of personalities from the network that are still being considered. Simon confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres Tuesday that Khloe Kardashian is in the running, and there are other claims that suggest that Kevin Jonas, who is the star of the new “Married to Jonas” series, could serve as her compliment. This would give Simon a pair of people who are new to the hosting world, and would thus feel fresh and identifiable with the franchise even though they had some success beforehand. A good comparison here is to Ant and Dec over on “Britain’s Got Talent” or Nick Cannon on the American version of the show.
Simon says that he wants to have a firm decision made this week, but we will not see the hosts actually around until the live shows kick off, which is probably going to be around October. Personally, we’re hoping for shorter auditions so that there is more time spent on this round.
With Kevin and Kelly out of the running, who do you want? To check out more on the hosting search, be sure to follow the link here.
