Remember the all the talk about Barney and Quinn facing some serious trouble on “How I Met Your Mother” this coming season over a prenuptial agreement? Well, we now know just when this episode is going to specifically be coming up.
CBS has released the official description for the second episode of the year entitled “The Pre-Nup,” and it does very much sound like there are going to be some major problems on the horizon for Neil Patrick Harris and Becki Newton’s characters:
“When Barney designs an extensive pre-nup, the guys take note and propose their own relationship amendments to their significant others. Meanwhile, Quinn is outraged and draws up a pre-nup of her own, which causes friction between the sexes.”
Will Barney and Quinn split by the end of this episode? It’s possible, and there are two things that do strongly support this theory:
1. When you remember that Barney is marrying Robin and that the knowledge is now out there in the universe, there’s no reason to prolong an engagement that clearly is not going to work out.
2. Newton has a role on the Fox midseason comedy “The Goodwin Games,” and she is going to need to spend most of her time filming this show for whenever the network decides to put it on the air. (“How I Met Your Mother” executives Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are also EPs on this series.)
Let’s just hope that however this ends, it does so in a way that is both hilarious and also touching to Barney, a man who has suddenly realized that “love” does not equal his desire to jump into bed with every woman that he sees at the bar.
Do you think two episodes is a long enough span of time to tell the story of Barney and Quinn’s engagement? If you want to check out some more news about an episode all about breakups, you can do so by visiting the story over at this link.
