‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Giancarlo Esposito returns … sort of

Do you want some great news pertaining to “Once Upon a Time“? While the following news is not as good as Giancarlo Esposito returning as Sidney Glass / the Magic Mirror, it is still something worth celebrating that proves that the actor is still a major part of the show despite him having a full-time role over on the new NBC series “Revolution.”

On Sunday, September 30, ABC is going to air an hour-long recap special that will air prior to the season 2 premiere at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time. This special will serve as the perfect bridge to those hoping to watch the show for the first time, as it will cover all of the necessary details that you need to know in order for the show to make sense. As for Giancarlo’s role, he is serving as the episode’s narrator.

Even after Esposito (who also is up for a Emmy at the moment for his face-melting work as Gus Fring on “Breaking Bad“) took the “Revolution” role earlier this year, he expressed a desire to return to “Once Upon a Time” whenever producers wanted him to stop by, and we do have a feeling that will happen at some point. However, we also think that this will be pretty difficult logistically given that the ABC series films in Vancouver, while “Revolution” shoots some of its location work in North Carolina. We actually don’t know if producers could have found filming locations further away from each other if they tried. Even though we know that the Evil Queen Regina believes that her one true love is the stable boy Daniel, it was still pretty entertaining to watch Sidney’s feelings for her develop from when he was the Genie to when he later became the Magic Mirror and the man responsible for taking the fall over Kathryn’s disappearance.

How badly do you want more Giancarlo on the show? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and head on over to this link in order to check out the first promo from the show.
