If you love “Homeland,” then the latest move from Showtime is going to feel like a genuine gift: the first twenty-five minutes of the show’s second season are now available for your viewing pleasure. How do you watch it? Read on to find out…
So long as you have heard some details here and there about the September 30 episode already, at least some of this is not going to come as a surprise. Despite his actions against his country at the end of last season, Brody (Damian Lewis) is now in a major position of power within the government; meanwhile, Carrie (Claire Danes) is now in a very different position than she was for much of season 1. After getting her memory largely erased, she is now trying to live something resembling an ordinary life as a schoolteacher. However, you really have to remember just what sort of show this is at the end of the day. Carrie is probably not going to remain in the world of education for long, and we already know that some of the memories from her past are going to continue haunting her like one of the worst dreams known to man. There are other surprises in the video, but we’ll leave those as a surprise.
We all know that “Homeland” is a great show, but some are thinking that it could actually take down the monster in a suit known as “Mad Men” at the Emmys on September 23. What we were a little bit more worried about, though, was if the show was going to remain at a high quality and avoid the sophomore slump that has plagued some other shows including “Glee” and even some popular cable shows like “The Walking Dead” and, with the exception of the season 2 finale, “Boardwalk Empire.”
You can watch the “Defining Moment” promo below, and be sure to visit Showtime’s official site to see the actual 25-minute preview of the premiere. Be warned, though: you have to be a U.S. resident to watch it.
