Monday is turning out to be quite the busy night for television. Not only are we getting ready to see the return of “The Voice” and the finale for “Bachelor Pad” in primetime, but we also have the official debuts of a pair of new players in the world of daytime.
When it comes to Katie Couric’s self-titled show “Katie,” you can really feel the excitement level rising from fans everywhere. The show has come on with “General Hospital” as a lead-in, and Couric already has a devoted daytime following from her days on “The Today Show.” Overall, she’s very primed to do well in this spot: she’s smart, intuitive, and she knows how to tell both lighthearted and serious stories. We’re looking for her to return to some of her fun-loving roots, while at the same time she will keep some of the persona that she shared with us on the CBS Evening News.
As for Jeff Probst, we have a feeling that his syndicated talk show could be a little bit more of a gamble. We’ve always thought that he was a great host and communicator on “Survivor,” but we’re not sold on the idea that he is going to get the same crowd to watch this show that watch the famed reality competition series at night. He is probably going to have to work harder to find a devoted following, but given enough time he could be a force to be reckoned with during the day as well as at night.
Which one of these shows are you the most excited to see? We want to hear some of your thoughts with a comment below! If you want to see some more of the upcoming guests to Couric’s show, you can do so by visiting the story over at this link.
