‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ review: Dina Manzo and a touch of wine

The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” Sunday night were finally back in the home state, and that meant getting adjusted again to their normal lives … or at least what “normal” means to some of these people. Teresa Giudice balanced sending her kids off to school with the launch of her new wine, while Kathy Wakile acted appalled at the idea of her daughter staying in a dormitory in Maryland, and wondered whether or not she would be able to do laundry.

What was particularly interesting about this episode, though, was that we really did see Teresa and Melissa Gorga get along for most of it. In attempt to ride the wave of friendship that started up in Napa Valley, Melissa actually graciously offered to babysit her daughters while Teresa took off to the “adult beverage” launch, which somehow turned into a mini-fashion show while Melissa snapped pictures. Teresa actually didn’t invite anyone from the cast to the show; but yet, she did invite none other than Dina Manzo. Do you smell drama here? We know it’s coming, even though for most of the episode this was really the calm before the storm. Teresa still did take the time to tell Dina about everything that happened at Napa, of course from her side of the story that is certainly biased. Dina stood by her friend, and the division between the Manzo family is now cracks on different sides of an earthquake.

After being so involved in the drama over the past few weeks (at least since she didn’t know about Dina), Caroline Manzo actually had a welcome break this week as she had an opportunity to host a prestigious show over on Sirius Radio. ¬†She acted clueless as to why people loved her so much, but it’s really pretty clear: she’s great at communicating what is on her mind, and despite her fame she has managed to still be someone ordinary women can relate to. Unfortunately, this just wasn’t her day. Most of her other family members were too nervous to really get anything done, and it felt like a flop early on. However, things did get a little better by the end of it, and (ironically) there were some questions about Dina that came up from the callers. Coincidence, or foreshadowing? You be the judge.

What did you think about this episode, and is it nice to you to actually see Teresa and Melissa actually getting along for a change? If you want to hear the new song from Melissa, you can do so by visiting the link here.
