While there are times that we love “Castle” for being a show that tries to go a little bit outside of the box, there are also times that we cherish it for staying within the confines of what we expect from a murder mystery series. With this in mind, the upcoming sixth episode of the season certainly falls into the latter category.
Speaking in an interview with Give Me My Remote, executive producer Andrew W. Marlowe teased an upcoming storyline that is going to feature Nathan Fillion’s title hero being put into a rather sticky situation. How bad is it? Let’s just say that there is going to be a plethora of evidence that surfaces that causes him to be listed as a primary suspect:
“That’s a difficult one, that’s a troubling one … It’s always troubling when you’re in the midst of a very difficult investigation, a very startling body find, and all the evidence starts pointing towards someone you know … All the signs point to Castle committing the murder.”
The good news for Castle is that he is almost assured to be innocent give the nature of the character, and he will have the full support of just about everyone around him; however, there is also a rather hefty mountain of evidence that will suggest that he is somehow involved, and he is going to need to find a way to work around that. Unfortunately, there are not many other details about this hour that have been unveiled already … but we are more than willing to say “color us intrigued” for the time being.
Do these sort of mysteries always excite you, if for no other reason than that you get to see a journey of someone trying to clear their name? If you have yet to see the show’s playful new poster featuring Castle and Beckett in handcuffs, you can do so by heading on over to the link here.
