‘Big Brother 14’ review: Did Dan Gheesling make another big move?

For the first time all season long on “Big Brother 14,” Dan made a decision Thursday night that polarized some fans. Rather than getting rid of someone in Shane who was an enormous physical threat, he instead decided to boot Joe, who really wasn’t much of a threat to anyone. In making this move, he really put himself in an interesting position: Jenn was mad at him for not making Shane a replacement nominee, ad Ian was upset that he didn’t get rid off Jenn. The real person to blame here? Danielle. Had he put up Shane, he would have likely left thanks to Ian and Jenn’s vote. However, he would have had Danielle angry at him for the rest of the game. It wasn’t an easy choice, but Dan probably made the right one to keep the Quack Pack together.

Unfortunately, the guy did not get much of a reprieve this week with Ian winning Head of Household, and then, the guy pulled yet another rabbit out of his hat. In nominating Jenn and Shane, he proved yet again why he is one of the best players in the history of the game. Ian had every reason to nominate him, both to get revenge over being a pawn (even though he was secretly the target during the live show) and to hide their Renegades 2.0 alliance.

Since we already knew the nominations from the live feeds, the only nice thing to see in this episode were the touching messages from home that they received thanks to Ian opening Pandora’s Box. See people? Dan us human ad not just a “Big Brother” machine! We also give serious props to Rachel Reilly as Ian’s punishment, mostly because she was so willing to poke fun at herself and her persona of being loud and obnoxious in the house.
