We’re a little bit late with this look back at Sunday night’s new episode of “The X Factor” across the pond, but there are still some notable performances that we want to point out … mostly thanks to the fact that we really did not see anything like them coming.
Eddie String – In some ways, he seems to be the Frankie Cocozza of this year except with all of the attitude problems and talk about sleeping with women. Does the guy still have a questionable attitude? Sure. It’s not clear if he’s that serious about going far in the competition or just being a “rock” star, but this could be part of his performance. He definitely does look like a rock star, though, and while his performance of the Strokes’ hit “Last Night” was not necessarily spectacular, he made up for some of it with his stage presence.
MK1 – There were a pair of groups that made it on to the next round during this show, but what really was interesting here was that we saw a trio become a duo mostly because one of the guys was not that much of a singer. It was interesting to see the judges telling this group that it had to lose its geekiest member, and he did drop out some that the other two could advance … however, he did still in the process negotiate for himself to make 33% of the earnings he feels entitled to as the writer / producer.
Lorna Bliss – For the sake of your vision, we’re not including a video of Lorna sliding around in a see-through bodysuit that we are sure is already getting all sorts of complaints. She is already a “Britain’s Got Talent” reject, and now she can add this show to the resume. The only thing she has in common with Kitty Brucknell from last year is that she is a celebrity impersonator (this time Britney Spears). Kitty actually had talent, though; she doesn’t have any.
