Season 6 may be the final one for “Private Practice,” and with that in mind, Shonda Rhimes and the rest of the staff seems to be pulling out all of the stops in order to give us the best viewing experience imaginable. What’s one of these steps? Giving us an opportunity to meet some of the characters that everyone has been waiting to meet.
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Emmy legend Alfre Woodard is going to guest star in an episode airing this November as Sam’s mother. What are the implications of this appearance? While there is plenty of speculation out there that this could mean that Addison and Sam are getting ready to get married, we don’t know anything yet. As a matter of fact, we won’t know whether or not our leading lady accepted his proposal until the series returns with new episodes on Tuesday, September 25.
Woodard is going to be bringing to the show a rich history of major TV roles, with some of her most recent credits including the likes of “Desperate Housewives” (where she was a major fixture on Wisteria Lane), “Memphis Beat,” and a memorable part on “True Blood” as Lafayett’s mother. In another interesting twist, this will also be her second appearance on a Shonda Rhimes series; after all, she most recently paid a visit to “Grey’s Anatomy” back in 2011, which makes this appearance rather interesting given that these two shows exist within the same universe.
What do you think about Woodard’s casting on this show, and is there anything that you want to specifically see on “Grey’s Anatomy” before the series comes to a close? We want to hear some of your thoughts below!
