On Friday, we shared the first photo of Sinqua Walls as Lancelot on “Once Upon a Time,” and now we are pleased to announce that we are about to get an episode that is geared very much to his story.
According to SpoilerTV, the third episode of season 2 is going to be entitled “The Lady of the Lake,” which is of course a very keen reference to the world of Arthurian lore. We have a feeling that this means that we will be potentially meeting the lady in this episode, even though we have no idea who will be playing the character just yet. Depending on where you read your medieval literature, there are a number of different tales regarding who the Lady was ad what her purpose was in the story. In one tale, she was known for raising an infant Lancelot; in addition, she also traps Merlin under a stone or a tree trunk after learning all of his secrets when it comes to magic. The famed wizard develops feelings for her, and these are not feelings that are returned.
Regardless of what the stories are in the past of the Lady of the Lake, executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have a knack for creating their own interpretation of classic tales that feels somewhat true to the original, while at the same time modern and refreshing. Therefore, we are sure that Lancelot will have plenty of interaction with some other famed fairy tale characters, and in the Storybrooke universe we are sure that he will be turning up at some point.
What do you think about an episode themed all around Lancelot’s journey, and what sort of story do you see him having on the show as a whole? We want to hear some of your thoughts with a comment below! If you want to see the title for episode 2, you can do so by visiting the story here.
