Over the course of fifteen seasons of “Dancing with the Stars,” we have seen more publicity photos than we can possibly remember … and most of them we end up forgetting within a week after the season is over. It’s not necessarily an intentional thing, but they have a tendency to blend together in between all of the sequins and the saucy poses from the celebrities and the pros.
With this in mind, we appreciate it when someone at least tries to think a little bit outside of the box, and when it comes to Kirstie Alley’s new photo with Maksim Chmerkovskiy for the upcoming All-Stars season (check out our predictions for it here), we are not even entirely sure that these two even considered using a box at all. This shot is part innocent in what is a likely play on some of Maks and Kirstie’s headlines away from the ballroom floor, and also 100% fun. These two have already been down the road of having so much chemistry that people thought that they could be a couple, but now that Maks is reportedly dating Peta Mugatroyd, we have a feeling that will probably stop this time around.
We really just like the focus on the fun here. After all, this is what this show is supposed to be about, and we hope that most of the contestants do not forget this while they take on routine after routine in what is probably going to be the most competitive season in the history of the show. The routines and the judges are both going to be harder than ever before, and we also think that the voting public is going to be more ruthless even in taking out former winners early i the competition.
This photo beats Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas trying to look like nerdy secret agents, and it clearly takes the cake as being the best publicity image we have seen for the whole season. Not only that, but it may be our favorite publicity image. Maks is pleading for his first-ever Mirrorball Trophy, and Kirstie looks like she is either going to prank him or try to suck out the essence of his prayer. If only more images weren’t like this.
In case you are wondering, Kirstie and Maks had to take this photo a little bit later than the rest of the cast due to some scheduling commitments; you can check out the rest of the photos over at the link here.
