NBC gets deeper into business with ‘The Voice’ coach Cee Lo Green

Cee Lo Green has already established a major career for himself in television as a coach on “The Voice,” and with that in mind, it should not come as too great of a shock that he is looking to expand his relationship with NBC even further.

According to a new report from Deadline, Green is in talks with the network about a multi-camera comedy pilot based around his relationship with his ex-wife along with his children. Not only would he serve as an executive producer on the project, but he would also star as an eve more hilarious version of himself. There is no guarantee at the moment that this comedy will end up airing next year, and as a matter of fact, it still has yet to receive an official script commitment for a pilot.

This is certainly a bold and risky move for Green, who is not a man particular well-known for being a big name in scripted television. He did play a small role on the NBC drama “Parenthood” this past season, and his movie credits include the recently-released “Sparkle” and the upcoming animated film “Hotel Transylvania.” Cee Lo first made a name for himself as a part of Atlanta group Goodie Mob, and later teamed up to be a part of the famed duo Gnarls Barkley, who landed on the top of many charts with the global smash hit “Crazy.” As a solo artist, his biggest success story has come with a song that has a title too offensive to be written here. However, you probably also know it by the name “Forget You.”

Would you watch a show starring Cee Lo, and do you think the man could have the comedic chops to pull something like this off? We want to hear some more of your thoughts below! If you want to check out a just-released promo for the new season of “The Voice,” you can do so over at this link.
