If there is one thing that we have not seen a lot of on “Grey’s Anatomy,” it is of doctors that can be best described as somewhat normal … and even nice with a few exceptions. With this in mind, shouldn’t the following bit of casting news even warm your heart (even if it may still be broken in half over Lexie’s death last season) a little bit?
According to a report from E! News, the ABC drama series is currently casting a doctor in his mid-forties who is described as a “good guy,” and it is possible that he may also have some sort of role in the upcoming storyline for Meredith and Derek, who, if you have not heard already, seem to be amping up the romance to a new level after what they went through in the finale last year.
Is this doctor working at Seattle Grace or somewhere else? This is a worthy question, given that the possibility last season that either Meredith or Derek could be taking off to what they believed to be greener pastures. No matter if this character is in Washington or somewhere else entirely, we can at least say now that he will appear in at least one episode, with the option being left open for more down the road if the character is well-received. Who knows, maybe this could be some sort of heir apparent for Eric Dane after the actor’s previously-announced departure within the first two episodes of the season.
What do you think about this casting, and do you have any predictions for the Meredith-and-Derek story this year? We want to hear some of your thoughts below!
