Sad news for fans of Chris Zylka: despite being cast on the upcoming second season of “American Horror Story” earlier this summer, the tides have since changed and the actor is not going to be appearing in this “Asylum” series at all.
So what exactly changed over the past few months? Apparently, it may have come down to something as simple as hair. According to a report from Zap2It, Zylka balked at the role when it required him to shave his famous blonde locks; thanks to this, executive producer Ryan Murphy ended up ultimately re-casting the role with a different actor and then reduced the part to just an episode. Zylka, who is fresh off of the canceled cult favorite “The Secret Circle,” was originally scheduled to appear for two episodes with an option for more down the line if Murphy wanted them.
While we are a little skeptical about someone not wanting a valued part because of hair, this is what the report says and we do have to believe it for at least the time being. However, we are curious if there are any additional parts that Murphy wrote in after this change was made, and who may actually end up playing them.
