Just in case you are already missing “Breaking Bad” four days removed from the last episode of 2012 (we know we are), there is a way to at least see what some of the fans are doing to tribute Walter White and company: the “Hey Dish, Where’s My AMC?” contest. This sweepstakes was created as a way to create viral videos in protest of the satellite provider dropping the AMC family of networks, and the prompt here was pretty simple for the entrants: how would you react if you were to lose some of your favorite AMC shows?
With that in mind, we present to you one of our personal favorite entries in the contest, which just started to accept votes today, from contestant Jason Prager. As for the idea behind it, let’s just say not being able to watch “Breaking Bad” can drive you to do some pretty desperate things … including starting to “cook” a certain blue product. It’s simple, funny, and we totally want the shoes that he has on (and not so much the underwear).
The way you vote for your favorite in this contest is pretty simple: you just have to visit the individual page for each video (Jason’s is over at this link), and then cast your vote via your Facebook and Twitter account. There is less than a week left to vote for some of your favorites, and the winners will receive a bevy of prizes including cash and opportunity to discuss your work with network brass. All in all, it’s a brilliant move for the network to get more press out there on what has become a complicated carriage dispute, and to show off just how creative and dedicated AMC fans are to their shows.
If you want to read up on the contest or find out more about the participants, be sure to visit the link here. We also have some teasers on the return of the show next year here. What do you think of Prager’s video, and of the idea of this contest as a whole?
