‘Royal Pains’ review: Now with a touch of love (and Carrie Preston)

We have been through a sibling divide, a random adventure with Boris, and conflicts with Divya and her parents; and now, “Royal Pains” has brought us deep into the world of romance. There’s no question that love was in the air on Wednesday night’s new episode, and it came to us from all angles.

First and foremost, we have to point out that romance came to us even with our patients of the week, a mother (“True Blood” star Carrie Preston) and her daughter Fiona who were both actually suffering from the same disease due to stress. This story mostly just functioned as a way for Hank to channel his inner passion for his new lady doctor girlfriend, and for Paige to find someone she could relate to in Fiona, who grew up in many ways alone. She has similar feelings at the moment courtesy of what is going on with her own parents, who she finally decided to see at the end of the episode after settling down following the adoption realization.

Love also continues to burn bright for Divya and Rafa, though there is still a man who doesn’t quite like it: Dr. Jeremiah Sacani. We still feel as though this character has taken “Royal Pains” to a new level. Is he cartoonish in a few ways with his OCD and socially-awkward behavior? Sure, but he is also so endearing, and a guy that you really want to see Divya with despite how seemingly perfect her new boyfriend is on the surface. Sacani has really been the glue in an uneven season, and we would love to see how he acts in an actual relationship.

Where do you think the rest of the season will go from here? We want to hear from you below!┬áIf you do want to check out some more of the latest “Royal Pains” news, be sure to head over to the link here.
