‘Big Brother 14’ review: Dan Gheesling keeps running the show

After watching Wednesday night’s new episode of “Big Brother 14,” we were pretty much reaffirmed of one thing and one thing only: Dan Gheesling is a mastermind of Dr. Will proportions.

There were so many things during this episode that were clear examples of just what Dan was doing right in this game. First and foremost, he nearly got Frank to throw the Veto even though his plan is to remove Jenn from the block to send him home. That didn’t happen, but he still managed to convince Frank after his Veto victory that he still planned to save Jenn, but he would stay in the game over Joe. He also convinced Ian that the move to put Joe up as a replacement nominee was completely his idea, and he looks to be getting through all of this pretty unscathed.

What seems to be so smart about how Dan is playing this game at the moment is that he is using his own history in this game as a tool to further himself. Everyone thinks of him as a trustworthy guy who only made an alliance with one person last time in Memphis; and because of that, he is making deals with everyone and staying safe in the process. The only thing that could get him in trouble now is if Frank calls him out on their final 2 deal as he is walking out the door. If Dan somehow pulls out a win here at the very end, we think he could very well go down as the greatest player in “Big Brother” history.
