Rather than giving out a heavy dose of “American Idol” notes on Wednesday night, we instead have something very specific and exciting to share: news on Adam Lambert’s next single.
After hyping this very thing up for several weeks now, the season 8 star took to his Twitter account today and shared the big announcement:
“My next radio single is TRESPASSING written by
@Pharrell and myself. ‘make their faces crack, there’s no turning back'”
While there were some other favorites talked about by fans (“Naked Love,” “Cuckoo”), “Trespassing” always seemed in many ways to be the favorite to get the single attention. Adam has performed the song during many of his press appearances around the world to promote the album by the same name, and it is also going to be one of the two tracks (along with “Cuckoo”) that appears on the upcoming October 23 episode of “Pretty Little Liars.” It’s clearly a song that Adam has a deep attachment to emotionally and vocally, and it’s a blast to listen to (especially if you do the clapping part at the same time as it happens in the music). As for where it fits on the radio, it’s going to be interesting to see; it is a little bit more rock-oriented than either “Better Than I Know Myself” or “Never Close Our Eyes,” and it could fare well in either Hot AC or possibly even a rock format.
What do you think about this single announcement? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! Stay tuned, as we’ll hopefully have more news soon as to a potential music video, single cover art, radio add date, and more.
