2012 VMAs: News on President Obama, Robert Pattinson, and ‘Twilight’
Even though none of the names above really have anything to do whatsoever with Thursday night’s MTV Video Music Awards when it comes to singing into a microphone, it turns out that everyone from the Commander-In-Chief to the biggest males stars of the “Twilight” film franchise is going to play a role in the show. Want to know more? Be sure to read on to find out!
-First, the decision was made by MTV to actually move up the start of the VMAs Thursday night to 8:00 p.m. Eastern time as a way to ensure that the show is over in enough time for viewers to catch President Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention Wednesday. For those of you curious as to why this show is airing on a Thursday to begin with as opposed to a Sunday, the answer is simple: the network did not want to go against NFL football, and the Sunday before happened to be the day before Labor Day. There really weren’t too many other times available that would give them everything they wanted, and Thursday is otherwise a pretty quiet night.
-Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner have each agreed to appear on the show in order to present a new clip from the upcoming feature film “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II.” For those curious, it doesn’t really look as though Kristen Stewart is going to be in attendance (which is probably a good thing when it comes to the cheating scandal that has caused so much drama in recent weeks).

I completely agree. *I* was sercad when I heard this and I wasn’t even there! I couldn’t watch it more than once couldn’t really bear the shrieking Was I ever like that, when I was 16? I remember very clearly going woooo-hoooo all the time and chanting Simon Le Bon’s name (it was the mid-eighties!) but shrieking like that? I don’t remember it but then again, it was a long time ago If I ever ever ever did that I sincerely apologise from the bottom of my heart!
