For a show that is very much all about “The Walking Dead,” it is the living that Rick is going to be turning his attention to throughout the show’s third season. This is at least the message that we get courtesy of the show’s new poster, which features Andrew Lincoln’s former sheriff giving us the perfect mixture of confidence and fear.
In addition to the show’s new tagline of “fight the dead, fear the living,” this poster also does its best to accentuate the prison setting that we are going to see play an enormous role in the new season. With the setting ominously in the background, Rick looks ready to strike down anyone in his past while on top of an overturned Humvee.
So who is the person among the “living” that should be feared above everyone else? Based on everything we have seen thus far, that would without dispute have to be none other than The Governor (David Morrissey), who is effective in unleashing a reign of terror upon the survivors in the Robert Kirkman graphic novels. While we are supposedly going to meet the character a little bit earlier in his journey on the show, he is still expected to be as crafty and violent as ever. Rick will have a new potential ally in Michonne (Danai Gurira) over time, but we do not know just how much she is going to be able to help him right out of the gate.
The new season premieres on AMC on October 14 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and you should be able to enjoy it without a problem so long as you do not have Dish and the standoff is still going on.
