When Kim Kardashian’s private home tape with her ex Ray J, was leaked to the world Kim became a superstar over night and has since then gone on to have a successful career in television and film becoming a self made mogul, but that doesn’t mean that the leaked home video called “Kim Kardashian: Superstar” didn’t affect her negatively too.
Kim spoke to Barbara Walters about the home tape last year saying: “I’ve made mistakes in my life for sure,” and Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner said: “It was devastating for the whole family. You cry yourself to sleep for a few nights, then you hire an attorney.”
So when we heard that Kim’s new boyfriend, Kanye West, decided to reference Kim’s “Superstar” home tape on a new track it left us wondering if this might be crossing the line in a relationship. According to TMZ, Kanye has a new song called “Clique” (which will be on his new album called ‘Cruel Summer’) and he references Kim’s home tape in the song. He raps:
“Eat breakfast at Gucci. My girl a superstar all from a home movie.”
This is not the first time Kanye has included Kim in his music, as he has also referenced her in his songs “Way Too Cold” and “Perfect B****”, but as Kim has been trying to move forward from her home movie and leave that in her past we have to ask – is this really something that Kanye should be rapping about in his music – or talking about at all for that matter?
Since Kanye and Kim have gotten together, Kim has seemed to be very happy and a lot more laid back then she was with her ex Kris Humphries, but will this latest stunt from Kanye hurt the couple? Every girl wants her musician boyfriend to write songs about her, but it’s unlikely that they want one of their most personal and devastating moments to be referenced. At this point Kim has not commented on Kanye’s latest homage to her, but it won’t be surprising if she’s not a little bit peeved about it.
Do you think that Kanye crossed the line, or do you think that this is something that Kim should expect if she’s dating someone edgy like Kanye? Leave us your thoughts.
