‘Hell’s Kitchen’ review: The finale begins in Vegas

Hell’s Kitchen” is a bit of a comfortable reality show in many ways, mostly because it has seemingly delved into a sort of routine season after season. Take, for instance, the finale. Gordon Ramsay takes them somewhere in Los Angeles, and then they compete in a face-off challenge to see who comes up with a better menu.

Thankfully, at least the producers at least tried to make some things interesting by forcing Christina and Justin (who were named the final two over Dana, who surprisingly did not shout at the camera during her exit interview) to go to Las Vegas in order to square of in a city that they would be working in at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Las Vegas. There was some pretty fun moments that came here as a result of this, but there was also one other major challenge: that they had to do: engaging in a cook-off at a live Penn & Teller show. In proof that some things never do change, though, all of Ramsay’s guest judges allowed there to be a 2-2 tie before Wolfgang Puck came out and declared the winner to be Christina.

From here, Christina had the honor of picking the first returning chef. But did she really make the best decisions? We don’t think so. Picking Dana first was smart since that is her best friend, but Justin did something really smart: he knew that his buddy Brian was not going to be picked right away, so he opted to take the best meat chef of the season in Barbie. Christina also strangely picked Patrick (who she never worked with), and she also have two people in Robyn and Kimmie who pretty much hate each other. Justin’s team was pretty great but there was one problem: Clemenza. He was picked last, and he was pretty much so upset about it that he really did not want to do anything. As a matter of fact, the cliffhanger at the end of the show was him walking out in frustration. Will he come back? Probably. Is he going to be a huge asset? We don’t think so.

Who do you think is going to win this season? We want to hear from you below! If you want to see where we ranked the contenders going into the finale, be sure to head over to this link.
