We are spanning several seasons with our Monday morning edition of “American Idol” notes, and to kick things off we are talking about none other than the reigning runner-up in Jessica Sanchez being in the Big Apple.
So why is she is New York City? The teenager shared on Twitter that she was heading back to the studio for some more work on her debut album, which, unlike the upcoming album from the season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, should be released later this year. We have already heard one likely track from the album in “Fairytale,” and it appears as though Sanchez is going to include a mixture of youthful pop as well as R&B on the disc.
Kris Allen changes management – In what is some interesting news from the Kris Allen camp, it appears as though the season 8 winner is now represented by someone other than 19 Entertainment.
In a new interview with Yahoo! Music, Allen confirmed the change, though he also declined to say who his new management is other than that it is someone who he has worked with before. He also confirmed that there will be another single from his album “Thank You Camellia” that is upbeat, but has not announced what it will be just yet. We hope that this new song does well (“Better With You,” perhaps?), mostly because things aren’t looking so good when it comes to his major-label future.
Lauren Alaina wrapping up high school – Even though Lauren already has a debut album and has toured around the country, there is another major part of her life she is yet to complete: high school.
In a new post on her Twitter account, here is what the season 10 runner-up had to say about getting ready for a new year of classes:
“Going to my first day of my senior year w/ my babies @lindslOla & @jerrica_brooke. missed our senior parade Bc we wanted chickfila. Hahah(:”
While Lauren is starting her final year of high school, the man who won season 10 in Scotty McCreery has already started his first year at N.C. State.
