We have now made it to the final edition of our “Dancing with the Stars” spotlight series, and with that we are putting our focus front and center on a young lady whose elimination was one of the biggest stunners in the history of the entire show: Sabrina Bryan. Back when she was booted during season 5, it felt as though she really had everything going for her. Sabrina was young, athletic, and had a great partner in Mark Ballas. She just didn’t have the voting block behind her to recover after one week that saw lower scores than usual.
So is this a chance at redemption for the former Cheetah Girl? We’re just that is how she is looking at it, and after America voted her through to be in the competition now, we are sure she is about to be more motivated than ever.
Claim to fame – Being a Disney Channel star thanks to her work with the once-popular Cheetah Girls. The show has since ended, and most of Bryan’s fame now either comes from this ballroom competition and her past relationship with Mark Ballas, who she dated for a time after her season.
Past placement – 7th place (season 5).
Past partner – Mark Ballas.
Current partner – Louis van Amstel.
Story on the show – We’ve spelled it out already, but consider this: at the time of her elimination, Sabrina had a higher average score than any other person on her season. Even when you factor in the high scores that most dancers get at the end of the competition, she still averaged only one-tenth of a point lower that winner Helio Castroneves’ performance over the course of the whole season.
Strengths – As if the following stat didn’t say it enough, Sabrina is an amazing dancer. She’s smart, quick on her feet, and she keeps up the pacing of the routines very well. She also happens to be a fast learner, and her motivation is going to be through the roof this season to succeed after the show even changed some of their rules after her elimination (briefly instituting dance-offs) to ensure something like that would not happen again.
Weaknesses – It’s ultimately the same problem that Sabrina had last time around. Even though she has a loyal fanbase, she doesn’t really have anyone else. She is far from the biggest name on this season, and there may not be many people who remember her as anything other than the really good dancer who was eliminated too soon. Now she’s on a season full of really good dancers, and she is going to have to find a way to win some people over to stand out.
Prediction – It’s worth mentioning that in addition to her talent, Sabrina has also been a part of the “Dancing with the Stars” Las Vegas show. Translation? She’s not going to have to re-learn many steps. We still don’t know if we see her winning with her fan following, but she is too strong of a dancer for her to leave in any place earlier than 7th this time around. Having Louis on her team should also help her embrace more of her fun side, and hopefully not come across as too intense (which may have hurt her last time).
How long do you think Sabrina and Louis will be in the competition? We want to hear from you below! If you want to check out more of our spotlight series, be sure to visit the link here.
