Over the course of this weekend, a number of cast members from “Once Upon a Time” — including Tony Amendola (Geppetto), Lee Arenberg (Grumpy), Raphael Sbarge (Jiminiy Cricket), and writer / producer Jane Espenson — were all present for a panel discussion at Dragon*Con in San Francisco for a panel discussion earlier this Labor Day Weekend.
So how much was revealed about season 2? If you’re looking for major plot stories, you are probably disappointed — however, what is fascinating about this panel discussion is that you get a greater sense as to where some of these stories come from, how they were crafted, and what motivates some of these characters. Amendola talked about how his character was inspired by being a new father, and Arenburg shared some fascinating insight in that this show represents the “middle” between the beginning and the end for all of our favorite fairy tale characters. (He also joked about getting the opportunity to have a love interest played by Amy Acker.)
For those of you who do have an interest in gaining some insight on the psychological foundation behind some of these characters, this video is definitely a must-watched (or at least a must-listen, since the quality of the video itself is not exactly great on any level). All of these actors will be back in some capacity during season 2, and we do in particular that Grumpy and many of the other Dwarves are going to have an important role in one of the show’s first episodes back. (The season premiere airs on September 30.)
Are these three characters some of your favorites on the show? We want to hear from you! If you want to check out who from the past is going to be returning for season 2, be sure to head on over to this link.
