According to People Magazine, Jesse Williams — who millions of people know for playing the role of Dr. Jackson Avery on the hit ABC show — married real estate broker Aryn Drake-Lee in a ceremony on Saturday attending by friends and family. The two parties have been dating for more than five years, and they originally met back when Williams was working as a teacher in New York. (He caught his big break in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2,” playing a love interest to Alexis Biedel.)
Here is what a source at the event had to say about the grand occasion:
“Jesse was beaming with joy throughout the entire ceremony … It was the perfect night with lots of smiling, laughing and emotion. You could feel the love they have for each other. They’re madly in love!”
On “Grey’s Anatomy” last season, we saw Williams’ character of Jackson hook up with April just before the board exams, and much of the end of the season revolved around him trying to deal with the complications of her losing her virginity to him. Are the two on the verge of becoming a real couple? We’re going to have to wait and see, but we do know that at some point by the end of season 9, we are going to see one couple on the show tie the knot in a fictional wedding.
The new season of the ABC series will premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and for the time being we send nothing but congratulations to Williams and his bride. To check out some more wedding-related news in the world of Seattle Grace, be sure to visit the link here.
