Even though we now know the news that “Jersey Shore” has been officially canceled by MTV, there is still one more season of entertainment in Seaside Heights worth getting excited about that will premiere on Thursday, October 4 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.
Of course, it wouldn’t be “Jersey Shore” without there being a few things that happen that you would not see coming, and one of them may be the surprising new circumstances that both Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi find themselves in. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly on this subject, here is what the network’s Executive Vice-President of Programming Chris Linn had to say:
“They never cease to surprise and impress us with their antics. The tension between Mike and Nicole definitely is a key storyline. My experience watching it, knowing it’s the last season, you see it through a different lens and it has a certain poignancy to it.”
Does this mean that the one-time friends (and later enemies) could be back to being pals again? If nothing else, it is certainly a step in the right direction. Out of all of the cast members, Mike has been the quietest when it comes to the subject of the show ending, though one of the reasons for that may simply be that he has been off working on the new season of “Celebrity Big Brother” in the United Kingdom.
Do you think the idea of Snooki and The Situation working through their issues is excited, or do you have a hard time getting pumped up for this season now that you know it is the last one? We want to hear some of your thoughts below!
