‘American Idol’ notes: Lee DeWyze, Jessica Sanchez, Heejun Han

On this relaxing Labor Day Weekend, doesn’t it seem appropriate to start off our new edition of “American Idol” notes with an acoustic performance from Lee DeWyze designed to whisk you away from your own troubles?

Listen to an acoustic “Stay” – Lee DeWyze first teased a couple of days ago that there would be a video coming up soon, and we now have it courtesy of this track.

We could sit here and try to give a note-by-note review of the song, but the best way to really describe the song is that it is just one of those performances that you are better off just sitting back, relaxing, and letting the music just sweep you away to your own private world of introspection. It’s a lovely listen, and well worth your time.

Jessica Sanchez hypes up DNC gig – In case you have not heard yet, Jessica Sanchez is going to be performing at the Democratic National convention this coming week, and she took to her Twitter account on Friday to hype the performance up a little bit:

“I might not be old enough to vote, but I’m so honored and excited to perform at @BarackObama‘s big party in Charlotte next week!#DNC2012!”

Jessica’s appearance in North Caroline follows up that of season 5 champion Taylor Hicks, who performed in Tampa this past week as a part of the Republican National Convention.

Heejun Han performs at K-Pop competition – This is one of the cooler videos we’ve seen this past week. While in his adopted home of New York City, the South Korean native performed and judged at a K-Pop musical competition at New York University. Not only is this one of the best performances we have ever heard for Heejun, it also showed off a little bit of a different side to him beyond just the comic relief that we have come to know and love from this past season of the show.
