Last month, we first received the tragic news that Kristin Chenoweth was being forced to leave her much-anticipated arc on “The Good Wife” after suffering a head injury that led to her going straight to the hospital. She is still going to appear in the show’s September 30 premiere — and now, we have also learned that she will be around for at least one other scene to go along with this.
In a new post on her Twitter account, here is what the former star of “GCB” and “Pushing Daisies” had to say about making a brief return as a tough-as-nails political reporter trying to get the latest scoop on Alicia’s relationship with Peter:
“I was able to go back a shoot a short scene with Alan Cumming on The Good Wife — #blessed.”
Since Chenoweth’s abrupt exit from the show was first announced, it has been revealed that one of her former “GCB” co-stars in Miriam Shor is going to be coming on board to play a similar character — however, the claims are that this was a role that was planned all along, and that she is not meant to be a technical replacement to the Emmy-winning actress by any means.
For its first three seasons, “The Good Wife” has become a major critical success for CBS, and it has also been one of the few network shows that has consistently managed to receive attention from awards shows despite the plethora of cable options available now with shows such as “Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones.” With Chenoweth and some other guest stars such as Michael J. Fox and Nathan Lane, let’s hope that it stays that way moving forward.
Are you glad for more Chenoweth — even if it is one scene possibly designed to wrap up early story early? We want to hear from you below, and be sure to check out some more of our other “Good Wife” news.
