While “Two and a Half Men” may not have been able to handle this entire Charlie Sheen debacle with the utmost of grace all of the time, you have to give them credit now for one thing — watching the headlines enough to know they could make a good joke out of all the rumors.
At one point, a number of sites proclaimed that John Stamos (“Full House”) was at the top of a very short list of candidates to star on the show. Stamos himself claimed he was not interested — but that is not keeping him from showing up in the premiere for a tongue-in-cheek role. Per TMZ, Stamos will be one of the many people in attendance to “remember” the character of Charlie Harper after his sudden passing during the September 19 premiere, as he was someone who was once involved with both a woman and Charlie at the same time. (Yes, form that mental image.)
Also planning to be in attendance for this service include Jenny McCarthy, Melanie Lynskey (Rose), and a number of the character’s other past romantic encounters.
How clever of an idea do you think it is for creator Chuck Lorre to include Stamos in this?
