Do we now know for sure when “The Lying Game” is going to be returning to ABC Family? Based on some new information that is out there at the moment, it appears possible.
According to a bit of scoop from production house Alloy Entertainment first picked up by HollywoodLife, the series could be returning to television literally at the start of 2013 on Tuesday, January 1. This is an unusual start date for many shows, but it also makes some sense given that New Year’s Day is not really considered to be a holiday where people tend to go away to friends and relatives’ homes. (We are going to wait until this news is confirmed, however, to really push it any further — mostly because we do have a little skepticism on the date and we would not be shocked to see the show launch instead on January 8.)
The site had also revealed the first collection of episode titles for the new season:
1. “The Revengers”
2. “Cheat, Play, Love”
3. “Advantage Sutton”
4. “A Kiss Before Lying” (which also happens to be a “Pretty Little Liars” episode title)
5. “Much Ado About Everything”
6. “Catch Her in the Lie”
All of these titles really do continue the show’s pre-established tradition of making clever references to other properties — with our favorite being episode 6’s connection to the classic J.D. Salinger book” Catcher in the Rye.” We hope that the show is going to air alongside the adventures of Aria, Spencer, and Hanna again — not only do the two shows tackle similar subject matter, but it will help “The Lying Game” yet again grow its audience a little bit to the point where there won’t be any more layoffs of almost a year.
