For those of you who were heartbroken about the news that Damian McGinty was not going to be a part of “Glee” season 4, we do have some good news — Rory Flanagan will be turning up again! However, it may not still be for at least several more weeks.
In response to a post on Twitter from a fan about the status of “The Glee Project” season 1 champion, executive producer Ryan Murphy strong suggested that McGinty would be back for the show’s first-ever Thanksgiving episode airing in November. Rory is likely to be back in Ireland at the start of the year after his visa fell through (at least this is what we are imagining happened to him), and he has come back to spend some of the holiday with his friends back in McKinley High.
As for whether or not Rory could turn up again after that, that is still up in the air. The original reason for McGinty’s exit was simply that the writers did not know what else to do with his story, even though some other “Glee Project” stars in Samuel Larsen and Alex Newell are each going to be appearing in multiple episodes.
As for another “Glee” star’s future on the show, Murphy said that the decision as to whether or not Grant Gustin will back for more is completely up to the actor. There has not been any talk about Sebastian making a return appearance — and as much as we liked the character last season, he already had his redemption and we are not quite sure where the story will go now if he does return.
