After some massive whispers throughout the “Big Brother 14” house that the Power of Veto Competition was going to be played on Friday night, it didn’t end up happening — and instead, we really just had a couple of interesting conversations that broke out that at least had some interesting strategy implications.
Dan and Ian – In Dan’s quest to be an even bigger snake than he was back in season 10, he tried to convince Ian to make a final 2 deal with him — which marks the third final 2 deal that Dan has in the house when you also look at Danielle and Frank. He’s really just trying to cover his bases in the event that he is nominated if Frank or Jenn win the Veto, which would really only happen in the event that Joe ends up winning the necklace and pulling one of them off of the block. The odds are really low that this would ever happen in any shape or form — remember, Joe is the man who fell of the HoH challenge two minutes into it.
Ian also told Dan that if there is a situation where Dan and Frank are on the block together, he wants to be the tie-breaking vote since it would be a strong piece of gameplay to add to his jury resume. Of course, what Ian doesn’t realize is that stroking his ego is not necessarily a great jury move.
Frank and Dan – Mostly, this was just the two sides pandering to each other, with Frank saying that he was worried about Dan being the last key in the box and wondering if it meant anything at all. Dan told him (this was prior to his talk with Ian), that Joe would be the replacement nominee if he wins the Veto, but even if Dan is up there against Jenn he’s still confident that he will have the votes to stick around.
