When you have a show wrapping up after a pretty substantial run on the air, you always have to go along with that people who are interested in stopping by for at least one last goodbye — or in the case of Showtime’s “Weeds,” three.
According to TV Guide, actor Guillermo Diaz is going to be back to close the show as his old character Guillermo Garcia Gómez, who was in many ways a rival to Nancy Botwin throughout most of the show’s run. In speaking about this get, series creator Jenji Kohan had the following to say about borrowing the ma who is now a star on ABC’s “Scandal”:
“I love Guillermo … Shonda Rhimes called me and was like, ‘You want my boy back?’ I’m like, ‘I love him!’ and she says, ‘I love him too!’ She was generous enough to let us have him for a little while … I just think Nancy and Guillermo have circled each other for so many years,” she says. “It’s time that they just accept the fact that they’re going to be in each other’s lives.”
There are only two episodes left before the two-part series finale airs on September, and the good news here for longtime fans is that this is not going to be the only reunion that likely happens before the end of the show’s run. Kohan promises that there were a number of stars she asked to come back to the show for another farewell, and that every person who came back was “important” to both him as well as the show.
