The back-and-forth when it comes to a potential “Glee” spin-off has at times been more complicated than an actual episode of the show itself — but for the first time, we have finally heard two people associated with the story actually come out and say the same thing.
At Fox’s TCA press event on Friday, network programming head Kevin Reilly confirmed that there has been talk when it comes to an off-shoot featuring Chris Colfer’s Kurt and Lea Michele’s Rachel, but it is going to be a while before we find out anything further:
“The spin-off was in the wind and is still is in the wind. We haven’t said we’re not doing it. … Ryan did talk to all the actors about it. I think the public nature of it took everybody a little by surprise. Ryan himself has said that he probably regrets kind of talking about it at that point because in the interim we had decided to really focus on this year. … We decided, ‘Let’s revisit that in the back end of this year when it should be visited.'”
At the end of the day, there are still so many other variables to consider when it comes to the future of this spin-off — including the ratings for this season and the actors’ ultimate interest in signing on.
If you had it your way, would you want to see this happen?
