‘The X Factor’ UK notes: One Direction and Cher Lloyd

Before we get to the new episode of “The X Factor” UK that will be airing on Saturday, we have some big news to share when it comes to a pair of former contestants.

One Direction’s new album cover – For those of you who are dying to find out something more about the band’s much-anticipated sophomore release “Take Me Home,” here is the official album cover! Are Harry Styles and the boys using a payphone to get a ride home, or are they trying to escape thousands of screaming fans? We haven’t really decided, and it may also be possible that they are trying to push Niall Horan over while stuck inside the phone booth. All we know is that this is a pretty fun, playful cover that reminds us that while these guys may be international superstars, they still are young and are not trying to grow up too fast.

“Take Me Home” has just received an official release date of November 13 here in the United States — just one day after its debut in the United Kingdom. For American shoppers this is quick turnaround given that “Up All Night” — the band’s first album — was just released earlier this year.

Cher Lloyd visits “Today” – We also have now a pair of new performances from Cher Lloyd’s visit to “The Today Show” Thursday — a place that was visited by One Direction earlier this year. In addition to performing and receiving platinum status for “Want U Back,” Cher also unveiled that “With Ur Love” — which has been released in the UK for quite some time — will be her next single stateside.
