As we have mentioned already, some of the episode titles coming up on “How I Met Your Mother” season 8 reference everything from nannies to a place (possibly made-up) known as “Farhampton.” So what is going to be coming next? Let’s just say we are going to have a title that seems to be very much appealing to the pet lover in everyone.
According to a report from SpoilerTV, the fifth episode of the season is going to be entitled “Pauses and Paws” — which seems like a pretty obvious reference to someone either getting or taking care of a dog for a little while. Animals have not really played that major of a role on this series save for the goat in Ted’s apartment, and one of the reasons for that may be continuity-related since getting the same animal for eight seasons is a little bit more challenging than getting the same actor. However, that would change a little bit now that we are near the end of the series, and a dog or cat would just be around for a short span of time. Then again, it’s possible that this is just yet another one of the show’s famous fake-outs, and this episode really has nothing to do with pets at all.
The new season will officially premiere on Monday, September 24, and will kicks things off with a new addition to the cast in Marshall and Lily’s son Marvin. Is it possible that they could be adding a pet to the mix, too? Sure, but that seems like an awful lot of responsibility at one time.
