“Once Upon a Time” recently took a page from “Pretty Little Liars” in casting actor Julian Morris (best known for playing the doctor Wren on the show) to be their Prince Phillip, and now they have done a rather smart move to promote his gig — airing a brief 15-second clip of the show during the finale for the ABC Family show on Tuesday night.
If you check out the video below, you can get a sense as to what exactly we are talking about here. Morris’ character is only briefly shown, but in the midst of all of his armor and princely attire it is pretty easy to forget that the guy is also the same person who has a thing for such younger ladies as Spencer and Hanna.
For those who want more in the way of concrete details about this character, Phillip is more or less the Prince Charming to Sleeping Beauty that David is with Mary Margaret. However, it’s not entirely clear just who these people are going to be in Storybrooke. Simply so that there is no confusion between one prince and the other, we do anticipate him being a rather different kind of character than the one Josh Dallas plays — and hopefully his counterpart in the Maine community has a little bit more of a backbone than the man with all of his forgotten memories.
This promo is really a rather brilliant move for ABC to make — they know that “Pretty Little Liars” will (save for one Halloween episode) be off the air until October, and this is a way that they can still see one of their notable actors on TV. The show has one of the most devoted fanbases on TV, and it always helps any show to get more young viewers.
