‘Basketball Wives’: Evelyn Lozada’s TV interview hits snag

Is Evelyn Lozada going to be speaking out on television soon about the alleged assault from her soon-to-be ex-husband Chad Johnson? We at least know that she was planning to, but there has been one major change as to how it was going to happen.

According to a report from TMZ, Lozada was scheduled this week originally to sit down with Robin Roberts of “Good Morning America” to ultimately discuss everything that has happened in the context of her personal life. However, Roberts had to back out at the last minute due to one key issue that was in play — due to the personal nature of the interview, Lozada wanted to tape it from her hotel room rather than the ABC show’s studio. Roberts would have had to miss a treatment formyelodysplastic syndrome — a blood ailment that is causing her to take a leave of absence from the show beginning on Friday.

The good news for fans of “Basketball Wives” is that Lozada is still planning on giving this interview, but it will be with Amy Robach instead. It’s not clear just when it will end up airing on TV, but our guess is at some point early next week so that the show can have enough time to promote it coming up. The incident involving Johnson happened on August 11, and it was only a matter of days later that Lozada made her intentions rather clear that she was planning to file for divorce after just a month and a half of marriage. Johnson has already been cut from his employer in the Miami Dolphins, and has even lost an endorsement deal as a result of the allegations.
